Last week I went with some friends to see the Martha Stewart show. One of the girls had put in for tickets online and got some. She seems to be good at that – she was also picked in the raffle to run the NYC Marathon (I have other friends who’ve tried for 3 years and not gotten in).
The set of the Martha Stewart show was BEAUTIFUL. These are some of the pictures I took that don’t do it justice. It was really amazing. I want that set to be my house!
Martha herself seemed a little awkward to me, although, I have to give her credit, she wore some amazingly tall heels – completely unexpected by me. She was definitely reading straight from the teleprompter the whole show – whereas I feel like most of the shows I’ve seen, the hosts definitely deviate from the prompter or know what is written well enough that they don’t really need to read it. Maybe that’s because people like Ellen, Conan, John Stewart, Jimmy Fallon, etc, are really involved in what is written for their shows. Maybe not so much in Martha’s case?
Either way, going to the show was so interesting, and we got some great free stuff, Martha just seemed uncomfortable to me.
This video is so cool. I meant to post it a while back, but am just now getting around to it. Watching it gave me chills. So cool that they could get such a huge crowd of people all to do this dance. They all had to be there the day before for rehearsals. My favorite part is an areal shot of the crowd splitting down the middle and moving back together.
I also love that Oprah seemingly had no idea. Yeah. Right.
This is amazing and I love it and it brought a huge smile to my face. Nevermind the fact that for years I had a huge crush on Chris Brown (it was totally inappropriate and once he started to really grow up [and beat women] it ended) and that I love this song. Great, fun idea!
Update: Yesterday when I watched this, there were less than 10,000 views. This morning there are more than 1.2 million views. Crazy!
These ideas could be really cool for dinner parties. I love place cards!
I’ve been collecting corks for about a year now and I haven’t really been sure what I want to do with them. I am thinking on one of my blank walls I am going to hang corks on fishing line in some sort of pattern, but I’m not sure yet. I’ve been inspired by a piece of modern art in the Met, but need to go back and photograph it. I could do this with some of my corks though. I love the idea of a cork place card holder!
I can’t help but think these would be perfect for a Christmas dinner party and such a good Friday night in activity!
Finally, these vintage flower frogs would be awesome to use as place card holders and then reuse as picture holders. I know they’re not actually frogs, but that’s what they’re called.
Here’s a cool invite to go along with the one I posted a few days ago and also to go with the stop motion film “Deadline” that I posted. Via Michael (thank you), a very cool wedding invite:
Last night I unpacked my last box. I still have some random piles of crap around my room that I need to sort through and throw away or decide what to do with, but for the most part, I’m done. Yay. It was my box with all my pictures and wall decorations. I had some frames in my old room on the windowsill and had some frames arranced to make a big rectangle on the wall. I also had a wall with all my crosses I’ve collected over the years just inside my door. I decided that on the wall in the hallway leading into my room, just inside my door this time that I wanted to hang all my frames and make a cool shape, so I did. Not sure what I’m going to do with the crosses yet – for now they’re on a shelf in my closet. This is what my frame arrangement looks like (Love!):
I also found this idea in the latest issue of InStyle. I can’t find it anywhere online, so I took a picture of the page – ghetto style.
I have always loved white boxes made from molding on colorful walls. This is a great, cheap, temporary solution. I wish I had a bold wall to do this on!
This invite has been all over the blogs I read since about Thursday. I think it was originally posted on Oh So Beautiful Paper. It’s definitely the coolest wedding invite I’ve ever seen.
